MEMO: Blackstone Valley Updates

09/07/2008

Following up on yesterday’s memo about the Blackstone Valley incident, we can now confirm that local law enforcement is cooperating with the FBI and spreading our obfuscation statement to the media. The FBI’s official position on the Blackstone Valley incident, as a reminder, is as follows:

“The Blackstone Valley victims were killed by a wild bear in a tragic hiking accident.”

No agents should mention the involvement (or lack thereof) of the entity known as “the Skulker” in relation to the events of September 6th. If you are asked about the Skulker, please refer to the official position above.

Civilians will be advised to stay away from the woods for their own safety, but we anticipate some rulebreakers. To that end, I’ve appointed Agent Morgan as the unit leader in charge of monitoring Blackstone Valley. Agent Morgan will work alongside the town sheriff to ensure no civilians come in contact with the Skulker.

As an additional note, we have reason to believe that one (or possibly several) of the victims in yesterday’s incident were undercover operatives for a larger organization, which may be a non-government-affiliated entity studying the existence of the paranormal. We’ve collected a number of files from Blackstone Valley that are currently undergoing further investigation in Evidence. These files are TOP SECRET and should not be shared with anyone outside the Division.

Please direct any questions about the Blackstone Valley incident to my office, and any Evidence requests to Leigh Carrington.
