OFFICIAL REPORT – CONDUIT SA-008

CLASSIFICATION: Level 5 Threat

LOCATION: Unknown

Description: Conduit SA-008 is a silver Casio wristwatch. When not worn, the watch strap measures approx. 16 cm, but will shrink or expand to fit comfortably on wrists of any size (including those of inanimate objects, such as puppets or mannequins). SA-008 does not accurately measure time, and will always experience latency if adjusted.

Known Effects: While the watch is affixed to a wrist, tapping the clock face three times will transport the wearer (as well as all observable matter within a 2 m. radius of the wearer) to a random day in the past or future. The range of possible dates appears limited to the lifespan of the wearer, as no test subject has ever traveled to a date before their own birth (with the possible exception of Rina Chaudhary - see Incident Report RC-2).

So far, there does not appear to be any way of controlling when or where the conduit will transport its wearer. Multiple tests indicate that SA-008 can seemingly be used without limit, although it requires a 5-minute cooldown between uses. Test subjects report no adverse health effects associated with travel using the conduit (although other effects have been observed when attempting to alter the known timeline - see Research Report C-324 for further info).

SA-008 is the first known conduit to manipulate time, and as manipulations to the timeline may have unknown ripple effects, access to this conduit is highly restricted. Any SA-008 access requests must be approved by Dr. Charlotte King, Lead Conduit Researcher.

UPDATE 5/22/24: It appears that objects transported along with the wearer may potentially become conduits themselves, which exhibit effects unrelated to those of SA-008. See the Conduit SF-102 official report for more details.

Threat Level: Although SA-008 could theoretically be used to dislocate a target from time and place, its activation conditions are too specific to be used reliably for this purpose. It is therefore designated a LEVEL 5 THREAT.

ADDENDUM: SA-008 is no longer in RC custody. Operative Rina Chaudhary is suspected of using SA-008 to transport herself and multiple additional conduits to an unknown date. For a full description of the containment breach and the list of conduits affected, refer to Incident Report RC-2.
